The Office of the Chief Financial Officer (OCFO) is seeking to fill multiple Budget Analyst II positions within the Forecasting and Economic Analysis Division of the Office of Budget. The Budget Analyst II is an intermediate level professional that receives close direction from higher level Budget Analysts and supervision from the Director of the Forecasting and Economic Analysis Division. The mission of the Forecasting and Economic Analysis Division is to support the City’s budget and policymaking processes with forecasts, estimates, and analyses that ensure the City’s financial sustainability.
The key services provided by the Budget Analyst II include, but are not limited to, supporting the following activities: revenue and economic analysis, preparing long-range financial projections and long-term obligation analysis, and financial strategy development and oversight.

Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university, with major course of work in accounting, finance, business administration, statistics, or a closely related field. Such education must include at least twenty-four (24) semester (36 terms) credits in coursework of accounting, business administration, statistics, finance, economics, or a closely related field.
Two (2) years of professional experience in researching, collecting data, preparing complex analyses, reports and presentations on subject matter related to this position. Budget Analyst II must demonstrate proficiency with integrated word processing and spreadsheet functions. Candidates with strong analytic, quantitative, organization, and communication skills are preferred.
License / Certificates
There may be a requirement for some positions to have or be working on achieving a Certified Government Financial Manager (CGFM) and/or Certified Public Finance Officer (CPFO) certification.
Equivalent combinations of education and experience that provide the required knowledge, skills, and abilities will be evaluated on an individual basis.

Applicants may be required to take written tests or work simulations to illustrate proficiency in other skill sets as may be determined based on the duties and responsibilities to be performed. These written tests might include mathematical skills and writing skills, including grammar and reading comprehension.
